The symbol on the pillow is called "chintamani" and depicts “tiger stripes” and “leopard spots.” In Ottoman empire this symbol was used to protect the emperor and to imbue him with physical and spiritual fortitude.
This navy blue pillow is made of local fabric Kutnu. In Turkey, the art of weaving kutnu is only practised in Gaziantep and is the early example of the art of textile printing.
